Bugatti Veyron 16.4

The ultra exclusive limited Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is currently the most powerful, most expensive, and fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a top speed of 407 kph.  It is named after French racing driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939 while racing for Bugatti.

The Bugatti Veyron, as a piece of design, its a thing of exquisite beauty, style and elegance, and is a credit to the Bugatti portfolio, but as a machine, it is unsurpassed by anything any car manufacturer has ever created. Speed, style, glamour and expense, at last the Bugatti brand is back where it belongs.

As the former racing driver and President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., Dr. Thomas Bscher, says: “The Veyron is easier to handle than any other sportscar even approaching its performance class. The spontaneity with which it carries out the wishes of its driver is fascinating. And the high standard of its safety equipment is as unique as most of its details are exclusive.”

Development of the vehicle began with the 1999 EB 18/4 "Veyron" concept car. Introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show, it was similar in design and appearance to the final Veyron production car.

After the release of the car, it has been reported that while each Veyron is being sold for €1 million, the production and overall development and engineering costs of the project broken down by 300 units are approx. €6 million per vehicle.
